SEARCHING TIPS

There are five different types of searches that can be undertaken on this site. These searches can be done separately or together in any combination. You can search for one term AND another term(s) or you can search for one term OR another term(s). You can also search for one term BUT NOT another term(s) by selecting "does not contain."

The five searches are:

1. Agency_Name

This search allows you to locate agencies by name, nickname and acronym (ie, American Red Cross, Shriners, EPU).

2. Program

This search allows you to locate specific programs (ie, Food Stamp).

3. Topics

This search allows you locate main service categories by selecting one of twenty different major categories from the list provided (ie, Health Services). Each category is subdivided (ie, Health Services - Inpatient Care). If you wish to see all Health Services programs select that as your search. If you wish only to see those Health Services programs that provide Inpatient Care then select the sub-category.

4. Keywords

This search allows you to locate services by assigned keywords. It is not a full text search. By clicking on this keyword link you can browse the keyword terms that are used to help you locate the term closest to the search you wish to undertake.

5. Cities

This search allows you to locate services in specific locations around Fresno County (ie, Dunlap or Mendota). Select one of 77 different locations from the list.

6. Full_Text

This search allows you to search all text in each record. That means any record that has the word in it will be returned. Because this will generate a number of "false" returns it should be used as the search of last resort.
