January 2007
This column features a different agency each month. If you wish to feature your agency in an upcoming issue, please contact Lori Jacobsen at 488-3857.
The Decision Home is a 12-step, faith based addiction recovery program located in the Tower District in Fresno, CA. Our focus is on rehabilitating men's lives in a 6 - 12 month inpatient program. Men are permitted to keep their gainful employment while in recovery at Decision Home. If they do not have a job, they will be required to get one. The men pay $161 per week for the program, which they are expected to earn.
Decision Home of Fresno is a nonprofit benefit corporation dedicated to individuals who are experiencing substance abuse problems. Decision Home has been a family home environment in the Tower District for over sixteen years. We have staff members on duty 24 hours per day.
The program consists of regular church attendance, Bible studies, Christian 12 steps, anger management, spousal abuse classes, group and peer counseling, employment in the community, employment application training, and random drug testing. All residents work on an individualized program designed to fit their needs.
School is encouraged for those residents who are in need of an education and career. We operate as a social model program which emphasizes the mutual self-help concepts of Alcoholics Anonymous, along with the attendance of several mandatory AA and NA meetings. We are a community based, peer group oriented, residential home that provides its residents with three balanced meals daily in an alcohol free and drug free structured environment.
Decision Home of Fresno is a program dedicated to restoring men as productive members of our community. Decision Home also offers men a true alternate sentencing program, where they can recover from an addictive lifestyle instead of serving time.
If you need help or you are interested in donating money or goods, please contact us today by calling 498-0381, visit our website at http://www.decisionhome.org or write to 805 N. Echo Avenue, Fresno, 93728.
