THE 21ST EDITION WILL BE THE LAST PRINT DIRECTORY

The results from the internet connectivity survey have been tabulated. Thanks to everyone who took the time to fill out and return the survey.

We had 178 responses to the survey. 162 respondents had internet access and 16 did not have internet access. Of this total 93 indicated they prefer using a print directory while 81 preferred the online directory.

The most common reasons for wanting to use a print directory was ease of use and access to all staff and clients. The most common reason for preferring the online directory was ease of use/speed.

After careful consideration of the results a print directory will be published this year, but it will be the LAST print directory published by the I&R Network. What this ultimately means is if you do not have internet access you have 18 months in which to resolve this issue. Beginning in June 2005 there will only be the online directory.

Need training on how to use the online directory for your staff? Call Joe or Lori at (559) 488-3857 to arrange training sessions. The Network will also be offering training at the Central Library computer lab; watch the Network News for announcements in the coming weeks.

FRESNO COUNTY RESOURCES DIRECTORY, 20TH EDITION IS AVAILABLE

The 20th edition of the Fresno County Resources Directory is available from the I&R Network offices. If you haven't ordered yet, now is the time before all copies are gone.

The 20th edition contains about 100 programs never before published. Unfortunately, a large number of programs also closed this past year and are no longer listed in the Directory.

There are now more than 1620 programs listed in the Directory. Each program contains valuable information such as contact people, phone numbers, addresses, fees, languages spoken, brief descriptions, and a wide range of other information to assist you in finding the most appropriate services for your clients.

Because of the large amount of change that occurs in the human services delivery system from year to year, you will need to purchase a new Directory in order to have the latest and most accurate information at your fingertips.

If you have any questions or comments regarding the above, call Joe or Lori at (559) 488-3857.
